It also suggests forming a sophisticated network of strategic alliances to fulfill the need to be functionally adept and effective in ALL of these specialty areas to succeed. It's difficult enough to complete a film wearing several hats on a modest budget--now necessity dictates we do even more.

My heartfelt concern is the looming threat of losing our ability to THINK BIG and tell stories without 'budget on the brain.' Children are blessed with the conceptual freedom to tell beautiful stories without limits; filmmakers tell stories they can afford to shoot (unless you're James Cameron). I haven't seen "Avatar" yet and I most definitely will, and my only hope is to see the value of wanton spending in each and every moment on screen. On the other hand, can we even justify spending $300mil+ on a 2-hour cinematic experience when American's are complaining about the price of healthcare? Perhaps Art should return to it's proper relevance in our society in order to put our priorities back into perspective?

Level Hollywood! I am having a problem with the pay by deferment part as most filmmakers are not businessmen with the skills to create a transparent accounts payable and receivable system for all of the deferred to see. But for sure, the times have changed and those who cannot or will not adapt, will be lost.

We need a little thinning out anyway. Far too many unfocused filmmakers exist for all to survive. Talent and multiple skills or a multitalented team will be the only winners here.Sheri Chttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05140350294074291150noreply@blogger.com
